A big thank you to all those of you who took part in the recent CWU Political Fund Ballot.
The ballot was not about what the fund was spent on, it was about whether the Union should continue to have a Political Fund ballot. The ballot is required by law to be undertaken every 10 years.
Any Trade Union lobbies and campaign for political change on behalf of it’s members, especially in areas of Employment Law and the Union can’t spend any money from its General Fund on political lobbying and campaigning. It seems the vast majority agree and over 80% of those participating in the vote voted in favour of retaining the Political Fund.
